Elections and voting is from democracy. Shaykh Abu Hamza Hassan bin Muhammed Ba Shu'ayb

بســـم اللــه الرحــمــن الـرحـــيــم

O Shaykh Hassan, a questioner from France says:

They’re currently undergoing presidential elections in France between two parties, both of which are disbelievers. One party is represented by a man and the other is represented by a woman. However the woman hates Muslims and black people, meaning she’s racist alongside having many other (detrimental) things with her, and the man is opposite to the woman.

The Salafis in France asked a Shaykh called Suleyman Ar-ruhayli regarding these elections, whereby he gave them a legal ruling permitting this, and that there’s nothing wrong with this, so the brothers over there in France are saying they’ve been given a Fatwa by Shaykh Ar-ruhayli (seeking to implement it), being if it was the case that the woman succeeds in achieving this presidential position, she would intensify the harms on the Muslims in France. The election is nearby, set to be this upcoming Ahad (sunday).

The question is, is it permissible to participate in these elections? and what’s the condition of Suleyman Ar-Ruhayli seeing as some of the brothers have taken his Fatwa on board due to him being from the people of knowledge.

May Allah reward you with good Oh Shaykh Hassan.

📩🔸Answer:

It’s impermissible to participate in elections in totality, due to it being a branch of the Taaghuuti democracy.
