What books do you advise a student of knowledge to read/study?

Our Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Hizaam -may Allaah preserve him- was asked the following question:

The questioner says: What books do you advise a student of knowledge to read?

📝 Answer:

You should begin by firstly memorising the Qur'an and then the Sunnah. If you're able, memorise Saheeh Al-Bukhaari and Saheeh Muslim, but if that's too difficult memorise Riyadh As-Saaliheen and Buloogh Al-Maraam. 

We also advise you to study Lum'at Al-i'tiqaad, Aqeedah Al-waasitiyyah, then Aqeedah At-Tahaawiyyah. But before that, you should study Al-Qawaa'id Al-Muthlaa. 

You should also study Usool Ath-Thalaathah, Kitaab At-Tawheed and Fat-h Al-Majeed. 

And by attending the circles of knowledge taught by the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah, the various Islamic sciences will become easy for you to understand and you will come to know of more useful books in the different fields of knowledge.
